Ground Rod
Most energizers need a ground rod but because of its "direct discharge" nature, the Zareba K-9 energizer does not. The Fi-Shock SS-2D and the Fi-Shock SS-740 each need one and with the generally small perimeters (less than 600 ft) of summer gardens, the 24" ground rod listed below will usually suffice. If the fence system is to be used in a very dry area then a longer ground rod may be necessary.
